Police Probe Former Force Spokesman AIG Moshood Jimoh Over VeryDarkMan's Allegations

The Nigeria Police Force has commenced an administrative investigation into Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Moshood Jimoh, a former Force Public Relations Officer, following allegations made by social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).

According to the police, the review is intended to examine the allegations in line with the Force's internal disciplinary and accountability procedures. Authorities emphasized that the administrative process is separate from any ongoing legal proceedings relating to the matter.

The Force has also invited VeryDarkMan to provide evidence to support the claims he made against AIG Jimoh as part of the ongoing review.

AIG Moshood Jimoh previously served as the Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer before rising through the ranks to become an Assistant Inspector-General of Police. He is currently the AIG in charge of Zone 2 Command, which oversees Lagos and Ogun states.

The investigation has sparked widespread public interest, with many Nigerians calling for a transparent and impartial process. However, the Nigeria Police Force has not announced any findings, and no disciplinary action has been taken against AIG Jimoh at this stage.

As the review continues, all parties involved remain entitled to the presumption of innocence until the investigation is concluded.

eWeekly Magazine will continue to monitor developments and provide verified updates as more information becomes available.
