AGN Set to Host Inaugural International Actors Day 2026

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has announced the inaugural International Actors Day 2026, following approval by the National President of the Guild, Alhaji Sanusi Abubakar Yakubu.

The historic celebration will take place simultaneously across AGN State Chapters nationwide, bringing actors together in a coordinated celebration that highlights their role and contribution to society beyond the screen.

The programme will feature community service, traffic management support, free acting workshops and mentorship, media engagements, talent showcases, corporate social responsibility activities, and digital campaigns.

Participation has been made mandatory for all AGN State Chapters, with Zonal Vice Presidents directed to provide leadership, coordination and oversight across their respective zones. Chapter Chairmen and executives are also expected to mobilise members for full participation.

Speaking on the initiative, the AGN President called on all Zonal Vice Presidents, State Chairmen, Chapter Executives and members to support the historic celebration and demonstrate the positive influence of actors in their communities.

“Together, let us make history by successfully hosting the first-ever nationwide celebration of International Actors Day under the auspices of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.”

The inaugural International Actors Day 2026 represents a significant milestone for the Guild and a new chapter in its commitment to strengthening the relationship between actors and the communities they serve.

The Actors Guild of Nigeria is the umbrella professional body for screen actors in Nigeria, committed to promoting the welfare, professionalism and advancement of actors while contributing to national development through the creative industry.
