Rivers International Film Festival Names AGN Chairman Ken Osunwa as Festival Director

The Rivers International Film Festival (RIFF) has appointed Dr. Ken Kenneth Chigozie Osunwa, Chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), as its new Festival Director in a major leadership move ahead of the 2026 edition of the festival.

Osunwa takes over the role previously held by RIFF Chief Executive Officer Chidinma Ezeigbo, who expressed absolute confidence in his ability to steer the festival to greater heights.

"His passion is unmatched, and his expertise is needed at this time to take the festival to the next level. I actually think he will do better than I have done in that capacity," Ezeigbo said while announcing the appointment.

Widely respected for his contributions to Nigeria's creative industry, Osunwa is expected to bring fresh ideas, strategic leadership and extensive industry experience to one of the country's fast-rising international film festivals.
The appointment comes as organisers intensify preparations for RIFF 2026, which is expected to attract filmmakers, actors, producers, distributors, film enthusiasts and other stakeholders from across Nigeria and beyond.

The Rivers International Film Festival 2026 will hold from October 29 to November 1, 2026, featuring film screenings, workshops, masterclasses, networking opportunities and celebrations of excellence in filmmaking.
Festival organisers have urged members of the public and the creative community to follow RIFF's official social media platforms and visit www.riffestivals.com for updates and announcements as preparations gather momentum.
