The leadership of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), under the National President, Sanusi Abubakar Yakubu, has marked its first 100 days in office with a strong record of strategic leadership, institutional reforms, stakeholder engagement, and industry-focused interventions.

Speaking during his official “100 Days of Purpose, Progress & Institutional Renewal” address, the AGN President said the administration assumed office with a clear mandate to reposition the Guild as a more credible, globally competitive, and professionally respected institution that prioritises the interests of actors both in Nigeria and the diaspora.

According to him, the administration’s vision is anchored on five key pillars: inclusivity and unity, institutional reform, member welfare, strategic partnerships, and global competitiveness.
“From day one, we understood that the Guild needed not just leadership, but clear direction leadership that listens, unites, reforms, and restores confidence within the industry,” he stated. Within its first 100 days, the administration recorded several major milestones and strategic interventions aimed at strengthening the Nigerian film industry and improving the welfare of members.

Key achievements highlighted include:
* Nationwide stakeholder engagement tour
* International Women’s Day celebration
* National membership screening and
   verification exercise
* Introduction of the new AGN identity
   card initiative
* UK-Nigeria Creative Roundtable & 
   Awards in London
* Memorandum of Understanding with the
   Content Creators Association of
   Zimbabwe (COCAZ)
* Memorandum of Understanding with the 
   Actors Guild of Sierra Leone
*.Participation at the Windsor International
   Black Film Festival in Canada
* Health Awareness Week and welfare
   interventions
* Support interventions for sick members
* Successful dispute resolution initiatives
* Successful Edo State election process

The Guild also disclosed that it had engaged major institutions including MTN Nigeria, Globacom, and the High Commission of India in Nigeria on strategic collaborations focused on digital empowerment, capacity development, industry support programmes, and long-term partnerships for actors and creatives.

“These engagements reflect our commitment to repositioning AGN within the broader national development conversation and strengthening corporate confidence in the Guild,” the President added.

Looking ahead, the AGN leadership unveiled plans to launch several transformative initiatives, including:
* AGN Performers’ Rights Society
* Full unionisation of the Guild
* AGN Screen Actors Awards
* Patrons’ Investiture & Awards Night
* AGN Regional Creative Summits
* AGN Consultative Forum
* Expanded corporate and international
   partnerships

The President expressed appreciation to President Emeritus, Ejezie Emeka Rollas, the Board of Trustees, National Executive Council, State Chairmen, industry veterans, partners, stakeholders, and members of the Guild for their support and commitment over the past 100 days.

“As we move forward, let us remain united in purpose and committed to the collective growth of our Guild and the industry. The foundation has been laid, the momentum is strong, and the future of AGN is brighter than ever,” he said.

The 100-day milestone reinforces the administration’s commitment to institutional renewal, member welfare, strategic growth, and positioning Nollywood for greater global relevance.
