The Actors Guild of Nigeria, in collaboration with Elegant Flix 3DM Magazine, successfully hosted the UK–Nigeria Creative Roundtable and Awards in London, bringing together a distinguished mix of industry leaders, investors, policymakers, and creative professionals in a landmark engagement focused on the future of Nollywood and Africa’s creative economy.
The high-profile event provided a strategic platform for robust dialogue, with key stakeholders examining pathways to unlock the full potential of Nigeria’s film industry. Central to discussions was the urgent need for structured government intervention to support sustainable growth, improve infrastructure, and enhance Nollywood’s global competitiveness.
Delivering the keynote address, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Alhaji Sanusi Abubakar Yakubu, emphasized the vast, untapped opportunities within the industry. He called on international investors to take advantage of Nollywood’s rapid growth and expanding global influence.
A major highlight of his address was the introduction of the proposed Nollywood edifice—a five-storey, state-of-the-art headquarters envisioned as a central hub for the Guild’s operations. He described the project as a transformative investment opportunity that will redefine the administrative and business landscape of Nollywood.
Speaking at the event, the CEO of Elegant Flix 3DM Magazine, High Chief Florence Okonkwo, expressed appreciation to participants for their strong support and engagement. She commended the collaborative spirit of the roundtable and reaffirmed her organization’s commitment to promoting African storytelling on the global stage.
