Africa’s animation sector is set for a transformative leap as Animax FYB Studios, one of the continent’s leading animation powerhouses, teams up with Arc & Beyond, a renowned Japanese animation company, to launch the TAIDO Project.
The pioneering collaboration seeks to elevate the quality, scale, and global competitiveness of African animation by combining Japan’s world-class technical expertise with Africa’s rich storytelling heritage.
According to Francis Y. Brown, Creative Director of Animax FYB Studios, the partnership is designed to deepen capacity building, expand opportunities for emerging talent, and close the continent’s revenue gap in animation production and distribution. Brown noted that TAIDO will “create new pathways for talent and ecosystem players while amplifying Africa’s voice in global animation.”
The project is expected to boost training, co-production pipelines, and market access for African creators, while enabling both studios to produce animation content that resonates on the international stage.
