Nduka Obaigbena Set to Unveil Lekeleke: Nigeria’s Answer to US and China’s Global Media Dominance

Media mogul and visionary entrepreneur, Olorogun Nduka Obaigbena, has announced the forthcoming launch of Lekeelekee, a groundbreaking digital media platform scheduled to debut in January 2026.

The initiative, already generating excitement and commendation among media stakeholders nationwide, is poised to redefine how Nigerian and African content is distributed and consumed globally.

According to Obaigbena, Lekeelekee aims to challenge the dominance of U.S. and Chinese companies in global content distribution while empowering Nigeria and Africa with a stronger, more independent voice in the global media space.

The announcement was made during his address at the 21st All Nigeria Editors Conference (ANEC) 2025, held today at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

In his remarks, Obaigbena also made a clarion call for massive support for reforms aimed at sustaining economic growth in Nigeria, emphasizing the critical role of media and innovation in shaping a prosperous and inclusive national economy.

With Lekeelekee, Obaigbena continues his legacy of pioneering media transformation in Nigeria—following in the footsteps of his earlier successes with THISDAY Newspapers and Arise News Channel—and setting the stage for a new era in African storytelling and digital engagement.
